About us
We are Almendra Navarrete and Richie Torres, representing Chile and Argentina with our passion for Latin dance. We have had the privilege and the joy of becoming Salsa world champions in 2018, 2019 and 2020 in our respective soloist categories.
We began dancing salsa and Latin rhythms over 17 years ago. For the last seven years we have danced together and traveled to various countries in the world, judging competitions, performing at shows and teaching at workshops worldwide.
We love sharing our passion for salsa with you– through classes, workshops and socials. Our dance school, Viva La Salsa! focusses on Mambo and New York Style, with special attention on technique and foundation, body movement, footwork and social dancing technique.

Always sourcing inspiration, as it is the fuel that motivates us to continue doing what we love. It’s an unconscious act that comes from the sound of music, a colour, an artist or a simple bit of advice from someone we admire.
We’re born out of competition. This undoubtedly forged our commitment to always doing better, but also the deep respect for all the instructors who helped in our growth.
